ONAOSI Students Take on Brussels!

Updated: Oct 17

On 13-16 October 2024, EucA had the pleasure of hosting a group of students and directors from Fondazione ONAOSI in Brussels for a study visit, aimed at inspiring the next generation of leaders by offering them firsthand experience in the workings of the European Union and democracy.

Participants had the opportunity to explore key EU institutions, including the European Commission and the European Parliament, where they gained insights into the EU's decision-making processes, thanks to interactive role-play and engaging discussions.

A standout moment of the visit was a lively conference centered on the role of youth in democracy.

Students engaged in meaningful discussions with notable speakers such as Brando Benifei, Member of the European Parliament; Francesco Tavernese, Director General of ONAOSI; and Angela Sancricca, Director of Collegio della Sapienza di Perugia, among others.

Their contributions encouraged students to think critically about the role of youth in shaping democracy.

The visit wrapped up with an informative session at the Regione Umbria Office, where attendees learned about Italian communities' representation in Brussels.

The enriching experience not only broadened their understanding of European governance but also ignited their passion for active participation in democratic processes.
