About
Luca Demontis

Luca Demontis (1988 - 2024) was a passionate student affairs professional in higher education. He served as the Head of Education at Fondazione Collegio San Carlo in Modena, supporting university students to achieve the best in their careers. 

His passion for supporting young people was unmeasurable. One of the pioneers of student affairs in Europe, he is missed by his colleagues, family, and friends.

Why a scholarship?

For young professionals, limited resources can make it challenging to access global opportunities that inspire innovation and drive change. 

 

The Luca Demontis Scholarship exists to make it easier, providing financial support to those striving to make an impact in the world of higher education.

By NASPA & EucA MODALITY: In-person PERIOD: November 2025 Deadline for scholarship applications: Coming soon WHAT IS COVERED: ✓ Registration fees (full or partial) ABOUT: ECSAS is a forum for student affairs professionals, academics, researchers, and practitioners, to exchange ideas about pioneering programs, best practices, models, and trends in student affairs. The next edition of ECSAS, same as its predecessors, marks an opportunity for SAS professionals for networking, collaboration, career development, and knowledge sharing.

By LUMSA University, NASPA & EucA MODALITY: Online PERIOD: April - February 2026 Deadline for scholarship applications: Closed WHAT IS COVERED: ✓ Registration fees (full or partial) ABOUT: Organized by LUMSA University in collaboration with EucA and NASPA, this unique international one-year postgraduate program brings together specialists from various fields such as psychology, teaching, organizational management, and law. The program aims to set a gold standard for training professionals, benefiting the students they serve in the long run.

Additionally, the scholarship will grant you a full-year EucA Individual Membership for free.

EucA's network of halls of residence, university colleges, and universities in 17 countries, offers to its members unique opportunities for career development, networking, and international engagement.

  • You can only apply for financial funding for one program at a time.

  • You need to register for the program you want to receive funding for before applying for the scholarship.

  • The scholarship covers the registration fees of all programs; in the case of the EucA Masterclasses, the scholarship covers the certificate costs.

  • The scholarship amount may cover full or partial costs, depending on the funding available and the recipient's financial need.

Who can apply

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

  • GEOGRAPHICAL CONSIDERATION:
     

    • The scholarship is open to applicants worldwide. It is not limited to residents of Europe or EU countries.
       

    • Preference for candidates from low-income or developing countries who wish to participate in European Student Affairs initiatives.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • PRIORITY FOR EUCA MEMBERS:
     

    • While all applicants are welcome, priority will be given to professionals from EucA member institutions or individual members.

  • FINANCIAL NEED:
     

    • Candidates must demonstrate their inability to self-fund by providing financial documents (see section below: "How to apply"). 
       

    • Preference for candidates with higher financial needs.

  • COMMITMENT TO STUDENT AFFAIRS:
     

    • Applicants should demonstrate a strong motivation to contribute to the field and benefit from international professional development.

  • SOCIAL INCLUSION:
     

    • An additional consideration for candidates from vulnerable or underrepresented groups.

  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
     

    • Must have some background in student affairs or campus life, either through employment or academic research.
       

    • Entry-level professionals in Student Affairs and Services will be given priority.

Apply through the online application form, and get ready to submit the following documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed overview of academic and professional experience.

  • Motivation Letter: A personal statement explaining your commitment to Student Affairs, career aspirations, and how the scholarship will support your professional growth.

  • Proof of Financial Need: Documents such as income statements or evidence of previous scholarships received.

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation: Endorsements from a supervisor, professor, or a professional in the Student Affairs field.
